AltSql Wave demo How to run it

AltSql Wave ยท Live demo

Find the burst that shows the fault

A vibration sensor on a pump's motor keeps a 1.6-second burst four times a day, compressed without losing a bit, and sends only the burst's features to the gateway. After three weeks a bearing starts to fail. Search the features with SQL, then fetch the raw signal behind any row.

Simulated motor, real engines. The motor, the fault and the sensor are simulated. AltSql Core and AltSql Wave run in this page, compiled to WebAssembly.

What the device keeps, what the gateway gets

Every burst is 4,096 samples of 16 bits: 8 KB as it comes off the sensor.

Ask the gateway

The gateway holds a replica of the device's database, sent the features only: an ordinary table named pump with a row per burst (time, label, n, bytes, crc, rms, peak, kurt, fpk, b0 to b2, l0 to l3). Label 1 is idle, 2 running, 3 loaded; b2 is the band from 800 to 1,280 Hz, where this bearing rings; l3 the line at 88 Hz, its outer-race frequency.

The burst

Fetch a burst: click a point on the chart or a row of results.

Try to break it

What a device has kept must survive a power cut at any moment and months of bursts filling its flash, and a damaged transfer must never show as a signal.

What is real here

Real

  • AltSql Wave: the compression, the features, the store, the packed bursts and their checks.
  • AltSql Core: the device's database, the gateway's replica, the sync between them and the SQL.
  • The checks: every burst read back is checked against the CRC-32 noted when it was written, and the power cuts are cuts in the middle of real writes.

Simulated

  • The motor, its bearing fault and the sensor, from a fixed recipe, so the numbers are the same every time.
  • Time: eight weeks take a few seconds.
  • The flash chips, 2 MB on the device and 512 KB on the gateway, emulated in memory the way the engine sees real NOR flash; the radio link is a buffer.
