AltSql Vector ยท Live demo
Teach a device what normal sounds like
A vibration sensor sits on a motor. Every 1.6 seconds the device turns what it hears into a fingerprint, looks for the closest one it was taught, and names the state, or flags a pattern it does not know. You can teach it on the spot.
Simulated motor, real engines. The motor, its faults and the sensor are simulated. AltSql Core and AltSql Vector run in this page, compiled to WebAssembly.
Try this
Loading the engine
The motor
What the sensor hears
The spectrum, in 32 bands what the fingerprint is made from
Level
What the device says
Distance to the nearest example it knows bits of 256 that differ
The fingerprint 256 bits, 32 bytes; bits that just changed are outlined
Teach it
Teaching stores the next six fingerprints of whatever the motor is doing now under a name. An example within 2 bits of one already stored under the same name is skipped: it would add nothing.
Threshold: 20 bits until it has two examples of a state.
When did it sound like this before?
Every fingerprint also goes into the device's history, an ordinary AltSql time-series that would sync to a gateway. Search it for the moments most like now, leaving out the last 30 seconds.
Try to break it
What a device has been taught must survive a power cut at any moment, and months of history filling its flash.
What is real here
Real
- AltSql Vector: the fingerprints, the library, the searches, the history.
- AltSql Core: the device's database, its key-value records and its time-series.
- The checks: every search is also worked out by brute force in this page, and the power cuts are cuts in the middle of real writes.
Simulated
- The motor, its four faults and the sensor, from a fixed recipe, so the numbers are the same every time.
- Time: the page runs about eight times faster than the motor would.
- The flash chip, 512 KB emulated in memory the way the engine sees real NOR flash.
