Byte for byte
The newest record each gateway received, found in the device's flash and in the gateway's flash. Same bytes in both places, nothing converted on the way.
Ask the gateways
The gateways answer in SQL, straight from the records the devices sent. Pick a question or write your own. They only accept reads: a gateway changes only through sync.
Power-cut lab
The same test the Alpha went through, run here in your browser. A random mix of saves, deletes and readings runs until the power is cut at a random byte: in the middle of a record, while space is being reclaimed, or while a flash sector is being erased. The chip then reboots and every record the engine had reported as saved is checked.

Four flash layouts take turns: 8 sectors of 1 KB written 4 bytes at a time, 16 of 512 bytes written byte by byte, 8 of 1 KB written 8 bytes at a time, and 6 of 2 KB written 16 bytes at a time.
